Yes, agriculture spraying drones are supported under the farm mechanisation schemes, and the subsidy depends on who is buying. For individual farmers and many entrepreneurs the support is commonly in the 40 to 50 percent range, with a higher slab often given to SC, ST, women, small and marginal farmers and to FPOs and Custom Hiring Centres. Under the separate Namo Drone Didi scheme, women self-help groups can get a much higher subsidy, often around 80 percent, to own and operate drones as a service. The subsidy is on the approved cost of the drone package.
