My PM-Kisan installment got credited but to an old account I had closed, so I did not actually receive it. How do I recover that amount and make sure future PM-Kisan installments come to my current active account?

This happens because PM-Kisan DBT follows your Aadhaar NPCI mapping, and your Aadhaar was still mapped to that old account, so the money was sent there. Two things to handle, redirecting future payments and recovering the credited amount. For future installments, go to your current active bank branch and get your Aadhaar NPCI seeded or DBT mapped to that account, the latest seeding makes that account the active one for benefits, so future PM-Kisan money will come there. Also update your bank details in your PM-Kisan record through the CSC or agriculture office if the account number on file is the old one. For the amount that went to the closed account, contact the bank where that old account is. If the account is closed but the credit landed, the bank may have parked the amount or it may be returned to the scheme as a failed credit. Ask that bank to trace the transaction with the reference and either credit it to you or return it so the scheme can reattempt to your correct account. Keep your beneficiary status screenshot showing the credit and the transaction reference. If the bank does not resolve it, raise a grievance on the official pmkisan.gov.in portal with the details, and follow up with your district agriculture nodal officer. Going forward, after you fix the NPCI mapping, verify with your bank that your Aadhaar now points to the correct active account so this does not repeat.
Exactly my issue. The old bank had to trace it. Took some weeks but the amount was returned and came again to my new account after I seeded Aadhaar there.
Lesson learnt, never close the account that has your DBT mapping without first seeding the new one. Seed first, close later.
