I want to know not just whether money came, but which specific installments failed and why. Does the PM-Kisan portal show the failure reason for each installment so I know what to fix?

Yes, the detailed beneficiary status on the official pmkisan.gov.in portal shows your installment history, and for each installment it typically indicates the status, such as whether it was successfully credited, is under process, or failed. Open Know Your Status, enter your registration number and captcha, and you will see the list of installments. Where a payment did not succeed, the status often gives a clue, for example it may indicate a transaction failure, an issue with the account, or that a step like eKYC or land seeding is pending. The most common failure reasons you will see in practice are, eKYC not done, land seeding not done or pending, and Aadhaar not seeded with the bank for DBT, which shows up as a transaction or account failure. Read the status line for each failed installment to know which gate is blocking you, then fix that specific issue, complete eKYC, get land seeding done at the revenue or agriculture office, or get NPCI DBT seeding done at your bank. After fixing the cause, failed installments are usually reattempted in a later payment cycle, though arrears are not always guaranteed and depend on the scheme's rules at that time. If the status is unclear or you cannot interpret it, take your registration number to a CSC or your block agriculture office and ask them to read the detailed status and tell you the exact pending item. Rely only on the official portal for this information.
The status page is useful. Mine showed two installments failed and after I fixed eKYC the next ones came. Do not expect all old arrears though, I only got the running one.
