Your KCC limit is not fixed for everyone; it is calculated from your crops, land area and the scale of finance set for your district, plus an allowance for household and post-harvest needs. The concessional 4% interest benefit (with timely repayment) now applies on loans up to Rs 5 lakh, raised from Rs 3 lakh in Budget 2025-26. For limits up to Rs 1.6 lakh banks do not require collateral, only your land and crop details. Above that, security may be needed. Your card is a revolving limit, so you can withdraw, repay and reuse it within the year. Ask your bank for the scale of finance for your crop to estimate your eligible limit, and review it each year if you grow more.
Scale of finance har fasal aur har zile ke liye alag hota hai. Maine bank se apne crop ka scale poocha, fir area se guna karke andaaza laga liya ki kitni limit milegi. Yeh poochna zaroori hai.
One useful thing: ask your bank to review and increase your limit each year if your cropping has grown. Mine stayed the same for years until I requested an enhancement and showed my added acreage.
Since it is a revolving limit, repaying early and reusing it within the same year keeps your interest low. I deposit my sale proceeds into the KCC account right after selling, then draw again at the next sowing, so interest is only charged on what is actually outstanding.
