Each nursery type has a different profile and the most profitable one depends on your local demand, not a universal answer. Vegetable seedling nurseries, especially raising healthy plug seedlings in pro-trays for nearby farmers, give fast turnover and steady demand in vegetable-growing belts, with relatively low cost per cycle. Fruit and forestry sapling nurseries take longer to produce saleable plants but can fetch good prices, and certified or grafted saplings command a premium. Ornamental and landscaping plant nurseries serve households, builders and landscapers and can be high value, especially in and around cities, but demand is more market-sensitive. Generally, vegetable seedling nurseries are the easiest entry with quick cash flow, while ornamental and grafted fruit nurseries offer higher value but need more skill and a stronger market. Match the type to who is actually buying near you, a farming belt favours seedlings, a city favours ornamentals. Validate demand by talking to local farmers, landscapers and existing nurseries before choosing.

Vegetable seedlings gave me the quickest cash since farmers buy every season. Ornamentals pay more per plant but the sales are lumpier. I do both now.

Grafted mango and other fruit saplings earn well but you wait a long time before selling. Have working capital to survive that gap.
