Market is the weakest link in pearl farming, so sort this out before you invest. Farmed freshwater pearls are usually sold to jewellers, traders, gem markets or directly to buyers, and the price depends heavily on size, shape, lustre and whether it is a round or design pearl, so quality matters enormously. Many beginners produce low grade pearls that fetch much less than the high prices shown in training adverts. There is no guaranteed buyer or fixed rate, so you must find your own market. Before scaling, talk to actual buyers, understand what quality and quantity they want, and treat any guaranteed buyback promise from a trainer or seller with strong caution, since such schemes have often disappointed farmers. Verify the genuine local market through traders and your Fisheries department.
