Red Lady worked well for me on raised beds with drip. Most plants set fruit and the harvest came fast. The main thing to watch is drainage and the ring spot virus, so I removed any badly infected plant early.

Buy fresh seed from a trusted source each time rather than saving your own from hybrid fruit, because the saved seed did not come true for my neighbour and the plot was uneven. Genuine packed seed costs more but the uniformity paid back.

Plan for staking or support in windy areas. A papaya heavy with fruit can lean or snap in a strong gust. We lost a few laden plants before we started tying them to a stake once the fruit load built up.
