How long until vanilla vines bear and what yield and price range is realistic?

Vanilla vines usually start flowering around the third year after planting and build up yield over the following years. Green beans dry down a lot during curing, so roughly 5 to 6 kg of green beans give about 1 kg of cured vanilla, treat this ratio as indicative. Yield rises slowly as vines mature. Prices for cured vanilla are volatile and have swung widely between low and very high across years, so do not plan on the peak price you may have heard. Income depends heavily on whether you sell green beans cheap or invest in curing to sell cured beans at a much higher rate. Confirm current buyer rates and curing demand with the Spices Board before scaling up, and keep your numbers as a range, not a promise.
