Shatavari is grown either from seed raised seedlings or from crown or tuber pieces of an existing plant. For reliable material, source from a recognised agricultural university, a state horticulture or medicinal plants nursery, or a KVK, rather than from a stranger who is also offering buyback, because tying seed and buyback to one party is the classic mis-selling pattern. Seedlings are usually raised in a nursery and transplanted at the onset of monsoon onto well drained, organic matter rich soil at a comfortable spacing that lets the climbing fern like vines spread on small supports. It needs good drainage as the fleshy roots rot in standing water. Confirm the source is genuine and ask your KVK for the recommended planting window and spacing for your district.
