Is blueberry farming profitable in India or too risky for a new grower?

Blueberry fetches a high price because most of what is sold in India is imported, so the potential margin per kg is attractive, but it is among the riskiest exotic fruits for a beginner. The challenges are real, strict soil acidity, the right variety and chilling, high setup cost, careful water and nutrient management, and a relatively niche market. Many casual attempts fail because the growing conditions are not maintained. It can be profitable for a technically capable grower with the right climate and a buyer lined up, but it is not a safe choice for someone new to high-value horticulture. Do not believe guaranteed-profit claims. Start small, learn the crop, and verify realistic yields, costs and market prices with your KVK and any successful growers before expanding.
