Use the IMD Mausam app or the Meghdoot app and set your location, because both give a block and district level forecast rather than only a state figure. On the Mausam app you can search your district and see a 7 day forecast with expected rain, temperature and warnings. The Meghdoot app, made by IMD with ICAR, gives a district agromet advisory twice a week in your local language with rainfall, wind and crop advice. For a reading closer to your village, also follow your nearest KVK or state agromet field unit, since they interpret the district forecast for local conditions. No app can promise rain at one exact village because rain in the monsoon is patchy, but a block level forecast plus your KVK advisory is the most reliable free option. Cross check with the rain you actually see over two or three days to learn how the forecast behaves for your area.
