Most traders here pay in cash and I just take it. Is there any real advantage to insisting on bank payment instead of cash when I sell?

Bank payment gives you a clear, traceable record of the sale that protects you in any dispute, while a cash deal leaves you with no proof if the amount or rate is later contested. Selling on eNAM or through the formal mandi route often credits the money straight to your bank account, which removes the risk of carrying cash and of an agent shaving the amount. A bank trail of your crop sales also helps when you apply for a Kisan Credit Card or other farm loans, because the bank can see genuine farm income. With cash you also risk theft on the way home and partial or delayed payment with no record to chase. So prefer bank or direct account payment, keep the sale slip, and treat large cash only deals with caution. Confirm the payment modes available at your mandi and on eNAM for your commodity.
After I started taking bank payment my loan paperwork got easier because the bank could see my sale credits. Cash leaves no trace of your income.
