Before I rely on crop insurance I want to know clearly what it will NOT pay for. What are the exclusions?

PMFBY covers a defined set of natural risks, so several causes of loss fall outside it. Common exclusions are losses from war and nuclear risks, malicious damage and other preventable man-made causes, theft, and damage caused by domestic or wild animals or by grazing. Losses purely from poor agronomic practice, deliberate neglect or harvesting at the wrong time are generally not covered, since the cover is for natural calamities, not management failures. For the add-on heads there are condition limits too, for example post-harvest cover applies only to the cut crop left to dry in the field for a short window and not to crop already moved to storage or market, and localized cover applies only to the specifically notified perils like hail, inundation, landslide, cloudburst and natural fire from lightning. Pest and disease losses are treated under the general yield assessment for the area rather than as a separate guaranteed head. The precise exclusion list and notified perils can vary by state and season, so read the term sheet or notification for your crop on the PMFBY portal so there is no surprise at claim time.
Mujhe pata nahi tha ki jaanvar ke khane se hua nuksan cover nahi hota. Notification dhyan se padhna chahiye.
