Can a new farmer who just bought land this year get a KCC immediately?

I bought farmland a few months ago and this is my first crop. Can I get a KCC now or do I have to wait a year or two?

You do not have to wait years. A new owner cultivator can apply for a KCC as soon as the land is properly recorded in your name and you are actually farming it. The key requirement is that the mutation is done and your name appears on the land record, because the bank fixes your limit on your area and crops using the scale of finance, and they verify ownership from the record. So the practical sequence after buying land is: complete the mutation and get the updated khatauni or record of rights in your name, decide your crops for the season, then apply with your KYC and the land papers. There is no minimum farming experience required by the scheme. Since you have no past borrowing record, banks lean on the land record and your general credit history, so keep both clean. If the mutation is still pending, that is usually the only thing holding you back, so push the revenue office to complete it first. Confirm the document list with your branch.

Maine bhi nayi jameen li thi. Sabse pehle mutation karwaya, apne naam record aate hi bank ne KCC de diya. Koi purana tajurba nahi maanga. Bas record apne naam hona chahiye.

In my case mutation took longer than I expected and that delayed the KCC. The day it came through, the rest was quick. So chase the revenue office for the mutation first, that is the real bottleneck.
