How the Crop Profit Calculator Works
Enter your area, the yield you expect (in quintals per acre), the rate you expect to sell at, and your total cost of cultivation per acre. The tool instantly shows your gross income, net profit, profit per acre and the benefit-cost (B:C) ratio. A B:C ratio above 1 means the crop is profitable; the higher it is, the better the return on every rupee spent.
Make Your Numbers More Accurate
- Yield: use your own past average, not a best-case figure. Check realistic yields with your local Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK).
- Price: check the live rate and 7-day trend on the Mandi Bhav page, and never sell an MSP crop below its MSP.
- Cost: include every input - seed, fertilizer, labour, irrigation, plant protection, machinery and interest. Cut waste by basing fertilizer on a soil health card and saving water with drip irrigation.
