From N-P-K Dose to Actual Bags

A recommendation like "48-24-16 per acre" means kilograms of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P₂O₅) and potash (K₂O). This tool converts that into bags of the fertilizers you actually buy: urea (46% N), DAP (46% P₂O₅ and 18% N) and MOP (60% K₂O). It meets the phosphorus need from DAP first, counts the nitrogen that DAP already supplies, then tops up the rest of the nitrogen with urea, and meets potash from MOP.

Use It the Right Way

  • Base the dose on a soil health card - it tells you what your soil actually needs, so you do not over- or under-apply.
  • Split nitrogen: apply phosphorus and potash at sowing and split urea across growth stages for better uptake.
