My jau crop has yellow stripes on some leaves and brown netted spots on others. Want to know how to manage these in time.

Barley can get yellow (stripe) rust, which shows yellow-orange powdery pustules in stripes along the leaf, and net blotch, which shows brown spots with a net-like pattern, both favoured by cool humid weather. Manage them with resistant varieties, clean treated seed, balanced fertiliser avoiding excess nitrogen, and avoiding very dense stands that trap humidity. At early disease appearance a recommended triazole fungicide such as a propiconazole or tebuconazole based product can check spread, but always follow the label dose, pre-harvest interval and your KVK advice. Scout from the late tillering stage onward so you catch it early.

I caught yellow rust early on my barley one year and a timely spray with a resistant variety the next season kept it well in check.

Clean treated seed of a resistant variety was the base of my control on the Mathura barley, since both diseases came in worse on my own saved seed. Starting with certified treated seed of a tolerant type meant the disease started later and lighter, and one timely spray then held it well.

Avoiding too much nitrogen and too thick a stand made a real difference for me, the lush dense crop stayed damp inside and both diseases spread fast in it. A balanced, well-spaced crop dries out between dews and the disease struggles to take hold.

Walk the field from the tillering stage onward, especially the borders and shaded low patches where the cool damp lingers. That is where I always spot the first yellow stripes or netted spots. Catching the first few leaves and spraying then is far cheaper than fighting it once it has spread across the field.
