How do I control downy mildew and crown rot in statice?

Downy mildew shows as patches with greyish growth on the underside of leaves in cool wet humid conditions, while crown or root rot causes plants to collapse at the base in waterlogged soil. The first defence for both is water management, statice does not like wet feet, so use well drained raised beds, avoid overwatering and overhead wetting of foliage, and ensure good air movement and spacing so leaves dry out. Remove and destroy badly affected plants and leaves. For downy mildew, any fungicide must be one labelled for the crop and disease, used at the label dose with the stated waiting period, and rotated to avoid resistance. Crown rot is mostly prevented by drainage rather than cured by spray. Confirm the current recommended management and any approved product for your area with your KVK, since wet conditions are the root cause of both.
