Statice is a useful filler flower used both fresh in bouquets and as a dried flower, which is its big advantage, it dries well and holds colour, so it has both fresh florist demand and a dried flower and craft market. It is hardier than the delicate cut flowers and can be grown in the open in suitable climate or under simple protection, making it lower investment than carnation or rose. The market is more niche though, fresh demand comes from florists and decorators who use it as filler, and dried demand from craft and decor buyers and exporters of dried flowers. Because it is niche, line up your buyer first. Confirm current prices and the dried flower buyers in your reach before scaling, since demand is steady but not as deep as the main cut flowers.

The drying part is what makes statice handy, I sell some fresh as filler and dry the rest when the fresh rate is low. That flexibility reduced my risk compared to a pure fresh crop.

It is filler, not the main flower, so do not expect rose money. But it is hardy and the dried market gave me a second outlet, which I liked.
