I want to supply Banganapalli for export. I keep hearing about residue rejections. What do I need to do on spraying and certification so my fruit clears export checks?

Banganapalli is well suited to export because of its firmness, but residue and phytosanitary compliance decide whether you get in. Key steps: register your orchard and packhouse with APEDA and follow a residue-safe spray schedule using only approved molecules at label dose with the correct pre-harvest interval, keeping spray records; the EU and UK have very strict maximum residue limits, so the last sprays before harvest must use low-risk products or none. Get pre-harvest residue testing from an accredited lab so you know your fruit is within limits before shipping. Provide the destination-required phytosanitary treatment, typically hot water treatment for the Gulf and vapour heat or irradiation for stricter markets, through an approved facility. Maintain cold chain and grading. Work through an experienced exporter for your first lots, since one residue or pest rejection can cost the whole consignment. Always verify the current importing-country MRL list, as limits change.
Keeping a spray diary and stopping chemical sprays well before harvest got my fruit through residue testing. The PHI is everything for export.
Go through a registered exporter the first time. The phytosanitary treatment and paperwork are too much to figure out alone.
