Lentil rust shows powdery brown pustules on leaves and stems in cool humid weather, while wilt causes patchy yellowing and drying of plants, often where lentil is grown repeatedly. The best defence is growing rust- and wilt-resistant or tolerant varieties recommended for your zone, along with seed treatment with fungicide plus Trichoderma, crop rotation, and timely sowing. A recommended fungicide spray at early rust appearance can check spread, following the label. The current resistant variety list is best taken from your KVK since it updates as new varieties are released.

After I moved to a resistant variety and stopped sowing lentil on the same plot every year, both rust and wilt reduced a lot for me.

Timely sowing made a difference for my masur, the late-sown crop sat in the cool humid weather longer and the rust hit it harder. Sowing on time so it advances before the worst rust spell, along with a resistant variety, kept my late-season disease much lighter.

The wilt for me was worst in the low, poorly drained corner of the field. Improving the drainage there and not letting water stand cut down the dying patches. Wilt fungus thrives where the soil stays wet, so getting the water off helps a lot.

A fungicide spray at the very first brown rust pustules checked the spread for me, following the label, but the variety and rotation are the main thing and the spray is just a backup. I scout from the cool weather onward and only spray if it actually appears, not on a fixed date.

Trichoderma seed treatment along with the variety change is what I rely on now. I mix it well-rotted into a bit of farmyard manure too. It is a slow improvement over seasons rather than one big jump, but the wilt patches have kept shrinking on my repeated-lentil field.
