Water soaked spots on leaves that turn brown with angular lesions, sometimes with a bacterial ooze, point to bacterial leaf blight, a major disease of guar that is seed borne and spreads in humid weather, so use clean disease free seed, treat seed before sowing, avoid working the field when wet, rotate crops, and use a resistant variety where available. Pod damage comes from pod borer and sometimes other caterpillars, scouted at flowering and podding and treated only when they cross the threshold, respecting the pre harvest interval for the vegetable crop.
