When and how should I plant lemon (nimbu) and which type is best?

Acid lime, commonly called nimbu or kagzi lime, is best planted at the start of the monsoon, around June to August, using healthy certified saplings. Kagzi lime types like Balaji and other improved selections are popular for thin skin and good juice. Common spacing is around 5 by 5 to 6 by 6 metres depending on soil and pruning. Make good pits with well rotted manure and ensure drainage. Lime fruits in flushes through the year, and with bahar regulation by withholding water for a period you can push more fruit into the high price summer. It starts bearing a few years after planting.
