Where can I get genuine quinoa seed for sowing in India?

Quinoa seed is not yet a regular notified seed in most states, so you will not find it at the normal agriculture department depot. Your most reliable sources are agricultural universities and research institutes that have run quinoa trials, such as ICRISAT and some state universities in Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh and Uttarakhand, plus a few private companies and FPOs that supply quinoa to processors. Avoid buying random imported packets sold only as food grain, because kitchen quinoa may be processed or saponin washed and will give poor and uneven germination. Ask for white or Indian adapted lines with a germination test report. Start with a small seed quantity, do your own germination test in a tray before full sowing, and confirm the variety suits your climate with your KVK.
