Some fruit drop after setting is natural because the tree cannot carry every fruitlet, but heavy drop usually points to moisture stress, poor nutrition, hopper or anthracnose damage, or hormonal imbalance. Keep soil moisture even with light irrigation during fruit development since wide swings between dry and wet trigger drop. Control mango hopper and anthracnose early because their damage causes fruitlets to shed. Some growers spray a low concentration of a labelled plant growth regulator at the pea stage to reduce drop, but doses must follow the label and local recommendation, not guesswork. For your variety and soil, confirm the irrigation interval and any PGR spray with Lucknow KVK or the state horticulture department.

On our Langra trees in Varanasi the hopper was the hidden culprit, the honeydew and sooty mould were stressing the panicles and the fruitlets kept shedding. Once we managed the hopper early at panicle stage with a labelled spray, retention improved a lot. Watch the hopper before you blame the weather.
One more thing that helped us near Saharanpur was not over-applying nitrogen, because lush soft growth seemed to worsen drop and invited hopper. We balanced it with potash as advised after a soil test and gave light frequent irrigation through the loo period. The hot dry winds at fruit set are brutal, so a few extra waterings then pay off.
