Dark sunken spots on my soybean pods and stems, seeds spoiled, what disease?

Dark sunken blotches on pods and stems with tiny black specks and shrivelled discoloured seed during wet pod filling points to anthracnose and the pod and stem blight complex. It mainly spreads in prolonged humid weather and through infected seed, so this is partly a seed and rotation problem for next year. For the standing crop, a recommended fungicide can protect the still healthy pods if applied during the wet spell, rotating fungicide groups, following label dose and PHI. Do not save seed from a badly infected field, since the fungus carries on the seed, and a fungicide seed treatment next season reduces it. Improve drainage and avoid an over dense canopy that stays wet. Harvest at the right moisture and dry the seed well to limit further spoilage.
