Cassava is planted from stem cuttings (setts) and is a long crop, commonly around 8 to 11 months depending on variety and whether it is an industrial or table type. Spacing is usually around 0.9 by 0.9 metre (roughly 90 cm each way) for many commercial varieties, but follow the spacing recommended for the specific variety from CTCRI or your KVK. Yields vary widely with soil, variety, fertiliser and rainfall, ranging from modest to high tonnage per acre on good land with proper nutrition. Cassava responds well to potash. Because it is a long-duration, bulky crop, plan your land use and irrigation for the full season. Get the exact variety, spacing and fertiliser schedule from your KVK or CTCRI for your district.

Use healthy, mature stem cuttings from a good crop, not thin top portions. My germination and yield improved a lot once I selected setts properly. Potash really matters for tuber bulking here.
