How do I control pests and diseases in chia without spoiling the food crop?

Chia is relatively hardy but can get fungal leaf and root problems in damp humid conditions and some sucking pests and caterpillars. Because it is a food and health crop with no clear list of approved chemicals for it in India, the safest approach is prevention and bio control, such as good drainage to avoid root and fungal issues, proper plant spacing for air flow, crop rotation, and neem based bio pesticides for early pest pressure. Do not casually use a chemical labelled for some other crop on chia, because residue on a health food meant for direct eating is a serious problem and buyers may test for it. If pressure is high, take a sample to your KVK and follow only what they recommend, with strict pre harvest interval. Most chia problems come from damp weather and poor drainage, so fix those first.
