What yield and income range can RAS fish farming give?

RAS can give high yield per unit area because of dense stocking, but the income depends entirely on running cost, species and market, so be careful with any fixed numbers. People often quote much higher production per cubic metre than pond culture, but the heavy power and feed cost eats into that, and you only profit if you sell at a good price into a reliable market such as live fish or premium buyers. Many units struggle when farm gate prices are low. Treat all yield and income figures you see as a wide range that must be checked against your own electricity rate, feed cost and local selling price. Before investing, prepare a project report and get the cost and income assumptions verified by your state Fisheries department or a working RAS farm, and confirm you have buyers willing to pay a price that covers the high running cost.
