How to control thrips and capsule rot in small cardamom during monsoon?

Two big problems in cardamom are thrips, which scar the capsule skin and lower grade, and capsule rot called azhukal, which spreads in heavy monsoon and rots panicles. For thrips, keep shade regulated, remove old dried parts, and use recommended insecticides only as advised, following the label dose and pre harvest interval strictly. For capsule rot, improve drainage and air movement, remove affected clumps, and use the fungicide schedule your KVK or the Cardamom Research Station recommends for your area, often timed before and during the wet months. Do not spray randomly, get the current recommended chemical and dose from KVK because residue limits matter for an export spice. Good shade and drainage prevent more loss than spraying alone.
