seeing yellow water soaked patches on anthurium leaves, worried it is the bad blight everyone warns about
2 जवाब
Bacterial blight is the most feared anthurium disease and it spreads fast in warm humid conditions, so act early. Remove and destroy infected leaves and badly affected plants, and do not handle healthy plants right after touching diseased ones, since it spreads on hands, tools and water splash. Disinfect cutting tools between plants, avoid overhead watering that splashes the bacteria around, and keep the house from being overly wet. Start clean with disease free tissue culture plants. There is no easy chemical cure once it is systemic, so sanitation and rogueing are your main tools, with copper based sprays used only as a label directed preventive. Confirm the current management and any approved product with your KVK or horticulture officer for your area.
Tool disinfection saved my block. Once I started dipping the knife between plants and pulling out sick plants fast, the spread stopped. Overhead watering was making it worse, I switched to careful base watering.
