Cherry tomato, who buys it and is the demand worth chasing?

Cherry tomato sells mostly to supermarkets, hotels, restaurants, salad and cloud kitchens and quick commerce in cities, with a premium over regular tomato when quality is good. Demand is rising but stays city and channel based, so it needs a buyer or aggregator rather than the open mandi. Farm gate prices have ranged a lot, often well above regular tomato, but the punnet retail price you see in stores includes packing and margin, so do not expect that at farm gate. It rewards growers who can supply clean, uniform fruit regularly. Confirm a buyer and current rates locally before planting more than a trial area.
I sell cherry tomato in small punnets to a Bengaluru retail chain through an aggregator. Uniform size and no cracking is what gets the price, loose mixed fruit does not.
Started with half a polyhouse of cherry tomato for cloud kitchens near Pune. Steady weekly supply matters more than one big harvest, they want it every few days.
