Corm rot and Fusarium yellows in gladiolus spread mainly through infected corms and infested soil, showing as yellowing, wilting plants in the field and soft rotting corms in storage. Use only healthy, firm, disease free corms and treat them before planting and before storage, cure and dry the corms well after lifting, and store them dry and well ventilated, not damp. Rotate the planting site rather than growing gladiolus on the same infected soil every year, and remove and destroy diseased plants and corms. Avoid waterlogging in the field. For the corm treatment chemical or biocontrol, dose and dip time, follow the product label and your KVK recommendation since options vary.

Curing and drying the corms well after lifting, then storing them dry and airy, stopped most of my storage rot. The year I bagged them slightly damp they rotted in store. They must be properly dry before storage.

Sort hard, throw out any soft or spotted corm before planting and before storing. One rotting corm spread it through the lot for me. Only firm clean corms go in, and I treat them as the KVK advised before planting.
