growing dhania for selling leaf bundles in city market, want close spacing for tender leaves

For leafy dhania you sow much denser than for seed crop, broadcasting or close line sowing so leaves stay tender and you get a thick stand. Lightly split or rub the seed to break the round into two halves for faster, more even germination. Sow in cool weather since heat makes it bolt to flower quickly and the leaf turns coarse. Keep soil moist with light frequent irrigation and harvest in 30 to 45 days while leaves are soft. For multiple cuttings choose a leaf type variety and avoid early bolting types. Confirm the leaf variety and exact seed rate for your area with your KVK or a trusted seed dealer.
Rubbing the seed between two bricks to split it really speeds up germination, I get a full bed in a few days now. For city bundles tender leaf is everything, so I cut early and sow again.
Stagger your sowing every week or ten days so you have fresh tender leaf for the market all the time instead of one big flush. The city buyers want soft green bundles daily, not coarse leaf.
Pick a proper leaf variety, not a seed type. When I used leftover seed type it bolted to flower fast in the warm spell and the leaf went hard. The dealer leaf varieties give more cuttings before flowering.
