Whitish wandering trails inside my tomato leaves and small mines in the fruit

Winding white tunnels in the leaf can be the common leaf miner, but blotchy mines in the leaf together with mines and pinholes in the fruit strongly suggest the tomato pinworm Tuta absoluta, a serious invasive pest that often arrives on infested seedlings. Confirm quickly because the management is specific. Start with pheromone traps and water pan traps at high density to catch males and monitor, remove and destroy mined leaves and fruits, and never bring in infested seedlings. Spray biopesticides such as Bt or spinosad first and rotate to recommended chemicals like chlorantraniliprole or emamectin benzoate only as needed, strictly rotating modes of action since Tuta builds resistance fast. Keep the field and field edges clean of solanaceous weeds and old crop. As tomatoes are eaten fresh, follow the label and pre-harvest interval. Take a mined leaf and fruit to your KVK to confirm whether it is Tuta or a simple leaf miner before spending on sprays.
