What kind of recommendations does the Soil Health Card actually give?

It gives both the numbers and a practical recommendation. Along with your soil test values for pH, EC, organic carbon, the main nutrients N, P, K and the micronutrients, the card carries a crop-wise fertiliser recommendation for common crops grown in your area. For each crop it suggests how much nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium to apply per acre or hectare, often translated into bags of urea, DAP, MOP or complex fertilisers, plus any micronutrient like zinc or sulphur or boron that your soil is short of. Many cards also suggest soil amendments, for example lime if soil is acidic, or gypsum if it is sodic, and advice on adding organic manure or green manure when organic carbon is low. The whole idea is to stop blanket application where everyone uses the same urea and DAP regardless of soil, and instead apply only what your field needs. Treat the printed dose as your starting plan, then fine-tune with your local KVK based on your variety, irrigation and target yield. Do not over-apply beyond the card recommendation.
