is alsi worth growing on rice fallow, what seed yield per acre and rate range

Linseed (alsi) is a low input low to moderate yielding oilseed, giving a few quintals of seed per acre, but because it is grown on residual moisture with little cost, the return relative to investment can be reasonable. Prices vary, and there has been growing demand for linseed oil and the seed as a health food, which has supported rates. As a rice fallow or utera crop it uses land and moisture that would otherwise be idle. Profit is modest but the cost is low. Check the current alsi rate at your local market and any health food or oil mill demand, and ask your KVK or local growers for realistic yields before deciding rather than assuming high prices.
Alsi on the rice fallow is almost free land for me, so even a modest yield pays since I spend little. The health oil demand has lifted the rate a bit. Bud fly control decides how much seed I actually get.
