Green chilli is picked fresh over many rounds, so a well managed irrigated crop gives a good number of quintals per acre across the season. The rate is volatile and depends on supply, with prices high when few growers have crop and low during a glut, and they can swing within the same week. Because picking is repeated, a steady supply spreads your income and reduces the risk of selling everything at a low. Profit can be attractive but labour for repeated picking is a real cost. Check your local market rate and government price portals before planting, and ask nearby growers for realistic yields and costs rather than assuming peak prices.

Green chilli pays well in a good spell but the rate crashes when everyone has it. Picking labour is the big cost since you go over the field many times. Plan that before you plant a big area.
