Is Aquilaria (agarwood) tree felling and trade legally restricted?

Aquilaria, the agarwood tree, is listed under international trade controls because wild agarwood was overexploited, so its trade, especially export of wood, chips and oil, is regulated. For cultivated trees there are mechanisms to allow legal trade, but you need the right registrations and certificates, and the rules can be detailed.
