Pond preparation steps for scampi.
2 जवाब
Good pond preparation sets up the whole scampi crop. Generally you drain and dry the pond bottom, remove excess black mud, repair bunds, apply lime to correct soil pH and reduce harmful organisms, and then fill and fertilise the water to grow natural plankton food before stocking, since young prawns feed on natural food early on. Because scampi live on the pond bottom and are territorial, providing the right bottom condition and sometimes substrate helps survival. Acclimatise the seed properly at stocking. The exact lime dose and fertiliser depend on your soil and water test, so do not copy a fixed number. Get the pond preparation steps and doses suited to your soil verified by your state Fisheries department before stocking.
Drying and liming the pond bottom properly cut my early losses a lot. Growing some natural food before stocking gave the young prawns a good start. Test your soil for the lime dose.
