How do I control quick wilt (foot rot) to protect a premium pepper garden?

Quick wilt, also called foot rot, is caused mainly by Phytophthora and can kill vines fast in heavy monsoon, so protecting the garden is essential to keep a premium crop. Focus on prevention, ensure good drainage so water does not stagnate at the base, avoid wounding the collar, mulch and add organic matter, and use bio agents like Trichoderma in the soil. At the start of and during the monsoon, a Bordeaux mixture spray and soil drench, or the fungicide schedule your KVK recommends, helps protect vines, used at the label dose. Remove and destroy badly affected vines so it does not spread. Use healthy planting material on well drained spots.
