Celery in India splits into two markets. Fresh stalk and leaf celery is a niche city crop sold to hotels, restaurants, juice and salad outlets and supermarkets, so it needs a buyer. Separately, celery is grown as a seed and spice crop in some regions, where the dried seed has its own established trade. As a fresh vegetable for a small grower near a city it is worth it only with a confirmed buyer because general demand is low. Decide which market you are aiming at first, fresh stalk or seed, then confirm rates and outlets with your KVK and local buyers, as they are quite different businesses.

I grow leaf celery in small quantity for hotel suppliers near Pune who use it in soups and salads. It is a steady small line, not a big-volume seller.

In parts of Punjab celery is grown for the seed (spice) trade, which is a totally different market from fresh celery. Be clear which one you mean before planting.
