Iceberg lettuce yield per acre and main pest problems.
2 जवाब
Iceberg head yields vary with spacing and head size, often falling in a range of several tonnes per acre, but the marketable figure depends heavily on how many heads reach the size and firmness the buyer wants. The main problems are aphids hiding inside heads, leaf-eating caterpillars, and rots like sclerotinia and bottom rot in wet or crowded conditions, plus tip burn from calcium and water stress. Manage with good spacing, clean irrigation, scouting and recommended controls following the pre harvest interval, remembering it is eaten raw so residue control is critical. Verify the achievable yield and spray plan with your KVK.
Aphids getting inside the head are the worst because buyers reject those completely. I control them before heading closes, after that you cannot reach them.
