Main pests in coloured capsicum and how to get blemish-free fruit for retail.

The main enemies of coloured capsicum are thrips (which scar fruit and spread virus), two-spotted spider mite in hot dry conditions, aphids and whitefly, plus viral leaf curl and fungal fruit rots. Since buyers reject scarred or marked fruit, control sucking pests early with scouting, sticky traps, and rotated recommended chemicals or biocontrol following the label and pre harvest interval. Blossom end rot, a black sunken patch at the fruit tip, is a calcium and water issue rather than a disease, fixed by steady irrigation and balanced nutrition. Confirm the exact spray plan with your KVK because mite and thrips resistance differs by area.
Thrips are the reason my fruit gets downgraded. I scout twice a week and treat the moment I see them, once the scarring is on the fruit it is too late.
I had black spots at the bottom of fruits and thought it was disease. It was blossom end rot from uneven watering, fixing the drip schedule solved it.
