Planted grafted Alphonso plants from a nursery three years ago in Konkan. Getting only a few fruits. When will it give a proper crop I can sell, and what can I do in the early years?

Grafted Alphonso usually gives the first few fruits around year 3 to 4, but real commercial yield builds from year 6 to 8 onward and a tree reaches full bearing around year 10 to 15 depending on spacing and care. In the early years remove most flowers for the first two seasons so the plant builds frame and canopy instead of exhausting itself on a tiny crop. Focus on training a good framework, light formative pruning, basin management, drip plus organic matter, and hopper and anthracnose control. Alphonso is alternate (biennial) bearing, so even mature trees give a heavy year followed by a light year. You can earn early income by intercropping with vegetables or short crops in the wide tree gaps for the first 5 to 6 years.
Same here, mine took proper crop only from 7th year. Intercropping with chilli and cowpea in the gaps gave me some income meanwhile.
