Losing strawberry fruit to rotting, especially in humid weather. Want to know how to manage the main diseases.

Grey mould (Botrytis) is the main cause of strawberry fruit rot in humid or wet weather, along with anthracnose and leaf spots, plus powdery mildew on leaves and root or crown rots in poorly drained beds. The first line of defence is cultural, raised beds with good drainage, plastic mulch to keep fruit off wet soil, drip instead of overhead water, good spacing for airflow, and prompt removal of rotting and old fruit and leaves. Healthy, disease-free planting material prevents many problems from the start. Where chemical control is needed, use only labelled fungicides for strawberry, rotate modes of action, and strictly follow the PHI since the fruit is eaten fresh and harvested often. Confirm the right products and schedule for your conditions with your KVK.
Mulch and drip cut my fruit rot a lot. I also pick out any rotting berries daily, leaving them in the field spreads the rot fast.
