My payment after selling at the mandi took many days and the agent kept giving excuses. Is there a way to make sure I get my money quickly?

The fastest route is usually selling through eNAM, where many states route the sale payment directly to the farmer's bank account, often within the same day or a few days, instead of going through the commission agent. To get paid faster keep your bank account linked correctly in your eNAM or mandi profile so there is no payment rejection, and always collect your sale invoice or slip on the day of sale as proof. If you sell through an agent in the conventional way, agree on the payment timeline in advance and insist on a written sale slip; delaying farmer payment beyond the period allowed under your state APMC rules can be a violation. If payment is delayed beyond the allowed days, complain in writing to the mandi secretary or market committee with your sale slip. Confirm the legal maximum payment period for your state, as APMC rules set a limit and it varies.
Since I shifted to eNAM trading my money comes to my account directly, no more chasing the agent for cash. Make sure your bank details are correct or it bounces.
Always keep the sale slip. When my payment was late, I showed the slip at the mandi office and the agent cleared it the next day.
