Because the harvested part is an underground rhizome, the crop draws heavily on potassium and organic matter, while balanced nitrogen drives the leafy canopy that feeds rhizome growth. Ginger is highly sensitive to soft rot and rhizome rot, so nutrient management is closely tied to good drainage, mulching and organic amendments like neem cake. A heavy dose of well-rotted farmyard manure at planting is the backbone of the package of practices, supported by split applications of fertiliser. Recommended NPK dose for Ginger
