Best Farming YouTube Channels & Resources for Indian Farmers

Top YouTube channels and digital resources for Indian farmers to learn modern techniques, schemes and market trends in Hindi.

The most dependable farming videos on YouTube come from government and research institutions: DD Kisan for daily farm news and schemes, ICAR and IARI Pusa for research and seasonal advisories, your state agricultural university for crop advice in your language, and IMD for monsoon and weather outlooks. All the channels below were live on 30 September 2026, each with a video uploaded in the previous few weeks, and each is run by a public body.

We have not ranked channels or quoted subscriber numbers. Private farmer and "kisan vlog" channels can be useful too, but their quality varies and we have not verified them; use the checklist at the end before acting on any video.

"Last upload seen" comes from each channel's public feed, so a channel that posts weekly may not have a video from the last few days. A channel that is not in this list is not necessarily bad; it may simply not have been checked.

Find your own KVK and state university

  • Krishi Vigyan Kendras: there are roughly 730 KVKs in the country, and many run their own YouTube channels with district-specific demonstrations. Activity varies a lot, with some posting weekly and others a few times a year. Find yours in the KVK directory on the ICAR website.
  • State agricultural universities: TNAU and PAU are listed above. Other state agricultural universities also run channels; look for the one linked from the university's own website, not a similar-named account.
  • Beware of accounts that copy a university's name; in our checks, one "PAU Ludhiana" handle had only two videos, both from 2019, and was not the official channel.

Other free resources

  • mKisan SMS advisories: as a pilot with IMD, the Agriculture Ministry sent local monsoon onset forecasts by SMS to over 3.88 crore farmers in 13 states in five languages in Kharif 2025, and a telephone survey in Madhya Pradesh and Bihar found that 31-52% of farmers adjusted their planting decisions after receiving them.
  • Kisan Call Centre: 1800-180-1551, toll free, with answers in local languages.
  • Apps: see our list of official farming apps.
  • TNAU Agritech Portal (agritech.tnau.ac.in) has text guides on irrigation, nutrient management and crop protection.

How to judge any farming video

  1. Who is speaking? A scientist, KVK officer or university extension worker is more reliable than an anonymous voice-over.
  2. Is the dose given per acre or per litre, with the product's registered label? If a video recommends a pesticide, check the label and your KVK; never mix chemicals on a video's word.
  3. Is it a local recommendation? A variety, sowing date or fertiliser dose that works in Punjab can fail in Maharashtra. Check it against your state's package of practices.
  4. Are there income claims? Treat "lakhs per acre" claims with suspicion unless costs, yield, price and the year are shown.
  5. Is it selling something? Videos that end with a product link, a paid course or a "subsidy agent" number need extra care. Government schemes are applied for through official portals and departments, not through paid intermediaries.
  6. When was it made? Scheme amounts and rules change; confirm on official scheme pages or the subsidy finder.
💡 Tip: Save the two or three channels closest to you (your state university, your KVK, DD Kisan) and watch the seasonal advisory videos a week before each sowing. That is more useful than following many channels.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

Which YouTube channels are reliable for Indian farmers? +
Institutional channels are the safest starting point: DD Kisan, ICAR, IARI Pusa, your state agricultural university (for example TNAU TV or PAU), IMD for weather, MANAGE India and NABARD Online. All were active in September 2026.
Is there an official YouTube channel for ICAR and IARI Pusa? +
Yes. The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (@ICARIndia) and IARI, Pusa, New Delhi, Official (@iaripusanewdelhiofficial5271) both uploaded videos in late September 2026. Be careful with similar-named accounts.
How do I find my KVK's YouTube channel? +
Look up your district KVK in the ICAR KVK directory and follow the link to its website or channel. Individual KVK channels vary in how often they post.
Which channel is best for weather and monsoon information? +
The India Meteorological Department's official channel (@Indiametdept) posts press briefings and outlooks such as the southwest monsoon performance and northeast monsoon outlook. For daily local advisories, also use the Meghdoot and Mausam apps.
Can I trust pesticide and fertiliser doses shown in farming videos? +
Only if they match the product label and your KVK or state university recommendation. Doses differ by crop, state and season, so verify before spraying, and avoid videos that recommend unregistered chemicals.
Where can I learn about government schemes by video? +
The PIB India channel carries cabinet briefings and scheme announcements, and DD Kisan covers schemes for farmers. Confirm amounts and eligibility on the official scheme portal before applying.
