Raising a falling water table is mostly a watershed and community task, not something one farm can do alone, because groundwater is shared. The proven package is to slow, spread, and sink rainwater across the catchment: contour bunds and field bunds to hold runoff on slopes, check dams and gabions across nallahs, percolation tanks, farm ponds, and recharge pits or shafts near wells and borewells, along with gully plugging and tree cover on uplands. On farms, mulching and high organic matter let more rain soak in instead of running off. Reducing water hungry crops and shifting to drip lowers extraction. Done across many fields for several years these steadily raise the area water table. Get a watershed plan through the agriculture or watershed department and your KVK.

The key word is everyone together. A few of us doing recharge on our own fields barely moved the needle because the neighbours kept over pumping. Only when the whole village joined a watershed plan, with check dams up the nallah and bunding on the slopes, did the wells start holding water again.
Alongside the structures we had to cut down on the thirstiest crops and move to drip, otherwise the recharge just got pumped straight back out. Slowing the water on the slopes with bunds and tree cover so it soaks in, while reducing extraction, is what slowly lifted our table over several years.
